Volunteers Network CIC
(CIC number: 10429060)
Mission Statement: Our aim is to promote volunteering, reduce social isolation, address disadvantage, improve community cohesion, encourage people to get involved with their community and connect people throughout Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.
Our network consists of three separate projects:
Eastbourne Volunteers: we promote volunteering and address disadvantage by collating and sharing a database of social support and volunteering roles available locally, holding regular drop-ins, attending various events and running campaigns.
Pevensey Community Library: this community focused library in Pevensey Bay has good quality book stock, computers for public use, a jigsaw library, litter pickers to loan out, a reading group, writing group, rhyme time & story time sessions and ‘Read with Rosie’ our local Canine Concern dog. We also organise regular events and learning opportunities throughout the year.
Eastbourne Voice: we publish this newspaper to provide a showcase for the huge range of events happening locally and the amazing community we aim to support. We rely on citizen journalism, it is written by our readers so it is what YOU make it!
Come and meet our volunteers every Monday from 10am until 1pm at the new community space ‘The Hut’ in The Beacon. We can help you find volunteering roles, signpost you to support services or talk to you about contributing to Eastbourne Voice!
